The Americana Music Association will honor The Mavericks, Keb’ Mo’ and Carla Thomas and others with Lifetime Achievement Awards at its 20th annual Americana Honors & Awards show on 9/22.
The Mavericks will be honored in the Trailblazer, Keb’ Mo’ is Performance and Thomas will receive the Inspiration Award.
Other honorees are the Fisk Jubilee Singers (Legacy Award, co-presented by the National Museum of African American Music) and Trina Shoemaker (Producer/Engineer).
The ceremony will be held at the Ryman Auditorium during AmericanaFest, 9/22-25.
“All of these artists have transformed the way we listen and experience music and have helped to build a perennial foundation for Americana music to prosper as an art form today,” said Jed Hilly, Executive Director of the Americana Music Association. “Our community looks forward to welcoming them with open arms on our biggest night of the year in September.”
In addition to these top Lifetime Achievement Awards, the association also honors distinguished members of the music community with six member-voted annual awards.
