U.K. MIDWEEKS: SOUR RETURNS TO #1

Olivia Rodrigo is heading for a fifth non-consecutive week on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with SOUR (Polydor) following its release on vinyl. Over on singles, Ed Sheeran has two songs in the Top 3.

SOUR is leading on physical copies and streams at the halfway point. Close behind is Lorde’s Solar Power (EMI), at #2, which comes in first on downloads.

Jake Bugg’s fifth set, Saturday Night, Sunday Morning (RCA), starts at #3, succeeded by Brentford MCs' Kurupt FM with their first (ironically titled) album, The Greatest Hits (Part I) (Polydor), at #4. The album arrives alongside their new feature film, People Just Do Nothing: Big in Japan. Villagers’ Fever Dreams (Domino) rounds out the midweek Top 5 at #5.

Other albums eyeing a high chart position this week include Jane McDonald’s Let the Light In (JMD) at #6; the debut from Irish singer/songwriter Orla Gartland, Woman on the Internet (New Friends Music), at #8; and British singer/songwriter Jim Bob’s Who Do We Hate Today (Cherry Red) at #11. Chrissie Hynde’s Bob Dylan covers album, Standing in the Doorway (BMG), is #12 after its release on CD and vinyl.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Sheeran’s “Visiting Hours” (Atlantic) is new at #3, while his “Bad Habits” remains #1; The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” (RCA) is #2.

Dance hit “Talk About” (Polydor) by Rain Radio and DJ Craig Gorman looks set to climb for a ninth consecutive week, so far up two spots to #7, and Tones & I could enter the Top 10 with TikTok favorite “Fly Away” (Parlophone), up two places to #9. “Out Out” (Atlantic), by Joel Corry & Jax Jones f/Charli XCX and Saweetie, rises seven rungs to #11.
