Up until the announcement earlier this month that Tunji Balogun would begin 2022 as the new CEO of Def Jam, it was widely believed that longtime exec and manager Steve-O Carless would play a major role at the label as well, in conjunction with Balogun. Insiders say this is no longer the case but that two major labels are now in hot pursuit of Steve-O—who currently reps Polo G and has managed such artists as Nipsey Hussle and YG—in hopes of bringing him aboard as a head of Black music. Where will he land? Could his next post be something of a homecoming?
