SIRIUSXM, PANDORA AND STITCHER CELEBRATE BMM

In honor of Black Music Month, SiriusXM, Pandora and Stitcher have joined together to launch exclusive music channels, streaming stations and an original podcast.

SiriusXM kicks off the June celebration with two limited-engagement channels, The 2PAC Channel and The Prince Channel. Pandora’s Black Music Forever Station will also extend to its own SiriusXM channel, Black Music Forever Radio, highlighting the latest from current stars and breaking Black artists in hip-hop, R&B and pop.

Additionally, The Beatles Channel will debut a four-part series, A Shot of Rhythm and Blues: Exploring The Beatles and Black Music, on 6/7 at 12pm ET. Exploring the relationship between The Beatles and Black music, the show is hosted by Meshell Ndegeocello and airs on Mondays throughout June.

Other channels featuring exclusive audio content and soundtracks from Black artists include BPM, Diplo’s Revolution, Heart & Soul—which will feature performances from Golden Globe winner and Grammy-nominee Andra Day, among others—Hip-Hop Nation and Kirk Franklin’s Praise as well as take-overs from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, H.E.R., Monica and a special from The Temptations in celebration of their 60th anniversary.

SiriusXM, Pandora and Stitcher will also launch a new original podcast, All Music Is Black Music. Hosted by Selema Masekela, with narration by Dr. Dwandalyn Reece of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, the first episode debuts today (6/1) and features a conversation with Kelly Rowland.

More Black Music Month content includes Pandora’s newly-launched Black Music Month microsite, which includes content quizzes, The Philly Sound hosted by Kenny Hamble and Leon Huff, as well as special stations like Future Fire, Africa Now and more.

As part of Pandora’s virtual event series, Pandora Playback will feature an in-depth conversation with . There will also be a special celebration of Historically Black Colleges and Universities music and culture, which listeners can RSVP for on the microsite beginning on 6/17.
