Global Citizen’s Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World was taped at SoFi Stadium over the weekend for broadcast Saturday night (5/8) across multiple networks. Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin, H.E.R., Jimmy Kimmel and David Letterman appeared at the Selena Gomez-hosted event, which marked the return of longtime Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich in his familiar role, in tandem with Casey Patterson of Casey Patterson Entertainment.
“People are calling it the rebirth of live performance in front of an audience,” Ehrlich wrote on Facebook. “To me, it was a great Sunday night at SoFi Stadium for all the right reasons. You can figure it out for yourself this Saturday night on ABC, CBS, Fox, YouTube and iHeartRadio. You don’t have to be vaxxed to watch, but it wouldn’t hurt.”
Per Global Citizen's website: "VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World is celebrating the hope that COVID-19 vaccines are offering families and communities around the world. We are calling on world leaders to step up to make sure vaccines are accessible for all so we can end the pandemic for everyone, everywhere." Upwards of 20,000 people, primarily first responders and essential workers, attended the show.
Vax Live’s producers included UMG’s Michele Anthony, Live Nation’s Michael Rapino, iHeart’s John Sykes and Tom Poleman, and CAA’s Rob Light.
