Lana Del Rey has earned her fifth #1 on the U.K. Official Albums Chart with Chemtrails Over the Country Club (Polydor) on 40,000 in sales. Over on singles, Justin Bieber’s “Peaches” (EMI) is new at #3.
After shifting 16,700 copies on vinyl, Chemtrails Over the Country Club is the fastest-selling vinyl album of the century by a female artist, and among international acts. In addition, Del Rey now ties Celine Dion for the fifth most #1 albums by a female solo artist in the U.K.
Bieber’s JUSTICE (EMI) debuts at #2 as the most-streamed album of the week, while Written & Directed (Foxfive) from Brighton rock band Black Honey opens at #7.
Bob Dylan’s boxed set 1970 (Columbia) is new at #13 and Sting’s collaborative album, Duets (UMG), charts at #17.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, Nathan Evans f/220 Kid and Billen Ted’s “Wellerman” (Polydor) holds on for a second week at #1. A1 & J1’s “Latest Trends” (EMI) sits 10,000 sales behind, scoring the most streams of the week.
Bieber f/Daniel Caesar and Giveon’s “Peaches” lands the highest new entry of the week at #3, while his “Hold On” flies 21 places to #10.
“Friday” (Ministry of Sound) by Riton x Nightcrawlers f Mufasa & Hypeman climbs to a new peak of #4, and “BED” (Atlantic), by Joel Corry, RAYE and David Guetta, rises two to #6.
