To celebrate PULSE Management’s new partnership with Luke Mitzman of 100 Management and erstwhile Dreamville A&R/manager and consultant to PULSE Music Group Matt McNeal’s new dual role in publishing and management at PMG, the parties concerned gathered for an old-school Silver Lake photo op. Seen just before Postmates arrived with a record-setting volume of avocado toast are (front, l-r): PULSE SVP Ashley Calhoun, Mitzman and PULSE Co-CEO Josh Abraham and (back, l-r): McNeal and PULSE Co-CEO Scott Cutler.
Mitzman, you may be interested to learn, founded 100 after closing the deal to move his former client Zane Lowe from the BBC to Apple Music in 2015. Since then, he has managed such illustrious figures as Usher, super-DJ Netsky and (with Mike Caren) über-producer Cirkut (The Weeknd, Cardi B, Maroon 5).
McNeal numbers among his clients Cardiak (H.E.R., PARTYNEXTDOOR, Rick Ross, Nipsey Hussle, Cordae), Eric Hudson (Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Nas), Shroom (Logic f/Eminem, Meek Mill, Ari Lennox) and more.
“Luke has had great success identifying talent that will shape and push the paradigm,” reads a quote from Abraham. “We’re confident that we have the right team in place to take our PULSE Management clients to the next level.”
Noting that “Scott and Josh have built a dream company in PULSE” and that he and they had long shared the goal of cultivating “the highly focused, bespoke approach of a boutique company but with the resources and creative muscle of a well-networked management operation," Mitzman remarked, "On top of that, they’re both really good people that I am proud to call my partners. I’m also excited to work with Ashley, who is hands-down one of the strongest A&Rs out there.”
