R.I.P. KANE

Longtime iHeartMedia morning-show host Peter Deibler, known as Kane to his listeners, died on 3/6 in a suburban Maryland medical center following a long illness.

The Kane Show, which aired for years in multiple markets, syndicated by Premiere Networks, originally at WFLZ Tampa before shifting to WIHT (Hot 99-5) Washington, D.C., in 2006. The show was most recently carried on WFLZ, WZFT (Z104.3) Baltimore and WNRW (98.9 Kiss FM) Louisville until April 2020, when his illness forced Kane to leave the show. His supporting cast, Intern John, Riley Couture and Rose, along with Producer Erick, continued under the rebranded title Your Morning Show.

Said Jeff Kapugi, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia's D.C. Region, who worked closely with Kane, “We are deeply saddened to hear the news that Kane has passed away. Kane has been an important part of our iHeart family for many years, from his early days at WFLZ Tampa to his network of stations and success at WITH Washington, D.C., and Club Kane. Please keep Kane's family and his girls in your thoughts and prayers."

Deibler leaves behind two daughters, Sam and Sophie. The family is requesting that their privacy be respected during this difficult time. Any inquiries should be directed to David Bulitt at 301-399-7888 or via email at [email protected].
