A new nonprofit initiative from dublab, Postmates and Restless Nites aims to benefit independent music venues shut down by COVID-19 through club and food combos and livestreamed shows. It starts next week in Los Angeles.
Dubbed Sustain the Scene, the program will be launched on 3/12 with The Regent, Lodge Room, El Cid, Catch One, The Comedy Store, Akbar, The Eagle, The Lash, 1720 and ETA in L.A. and The Alibi in Palm Springs.
Sustain the Scene will present livestream concerts from the venues along with exclusive food & beverage menus, cocktail packages and custom co-branded merch and gift cards that can be redeemed for concert tickets.
Venues will partner with L.A. restaurants and food trucks and offer menus on Postmates. Music fans and local communities can support venues by ordering directly from their exclusive menus in Postmates’ Sustain the Scene carousel.
The initial concert lineup is Girlpool, Vinyl Williams and MIKE/dj blackpower at Lodge Room starting at 8pm on 3/12; Light Asylum, ADULT., Patriarchy, Second Skin, John Fryer (This Mortal Coil) and Xavier (3TEETH) at 6pm on 3/20; and Starcrawler, ESPRIT/George Clanton and MIKE/dj blackpower at 8pm on 4/2 at Lodge Room.
Food partnerships include Lodge Room and Burgerlords, The Lash and the Something Good LA food truck and El Cid with Burritos La Palma.
