A RADICAL IDEA FOR BIDEN'S PARADE

Gregg Alexander, who gave up performing to focus on songwriting and producing two decades ago, is reuniting the New Radicals for Joe Biden’s virtual inauguration parade on Wednesday to play a song close to the new president's heart.

"You Get What You Give," released on the New Radicals' lone album in 1998, was the Biden family's theme song when son Beau Biden was battling cancer.

“If there’s one thing on Earth that would possibly make us get the band together, if only for a day, it is the hope that our song could be even the tiniest beacon of light in such a dark time," Alexander said in a statement. "America knows in its heart that things will get bright again with a new administration and a real plan for vaccines on the way. That’s the message… This world is gonna pull through.

"Performing the song again after such a long time is a huge honor because we all have such deep respect for Beau Biden’s military service and such high hopes for the unity and normalcy Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will bring our country in this time of crisis."

Garth Brooks will perform at the swearing-in ceremony; Lady Gaga is handling the national anthem.
