SM CHIEF HONORED

The executive behind South Korea’s largest entertainment company, SM Entertainment Chairman Lee Soo-man, has been honored for his management expertise and innovation.

SM Entertainment is one of the leading labels in South Korea, having amassed more than $921m in assets since its inception in 1995. SM acts include NCT, SuperM and Aespa.

Lee Soo-man received the Dasan Business Award from The Korea Economic Daily for his management capabilities, enhancing corporate competitiveness and leading the creation of a human-centered corporate culture.

“From the beginning, I always stressed 'culture first, economy next' to convey the importance and impact of culture,” Lee told the Daily. "Now, in 2020, everyone around the world knows that culture has both tangible and intangible benefits.”
