BOCELLI BREAKS ANOTHER RECORD

Saturday night’s livestream performance by Andrea Bocelli is the most successful ticketed online classical event of all time, moving 70,000 tickets to a global audience in 120 countries.

The 12/12 show, "Believe in Christmas," took place in the Teatro Regio di Parma opera house in Italy and featured special guests such as Zucchero Fornaciari, opera singers Cecilia Bartoli and Clara Barbier Serrano and Bocelli’s 8-year-old daughter, Virginia, with full orchestral accompaniment.

“Once again Andrea has delivered a master class in entertainment, setting a new standard for livestreaming events,” said Francesco Pasquero and Scott Rodger of Maverick Management in a joint statement. “Following from his phenomenal Easter concert, this is another fantastic achievement for classical music.”

Bocelli’s solo concert at Milan’s Duomo on Easter Sunday was the biggest livestreamed classical-music event of all time, with 5m viewers.

Driift, the livestream business behind ticketed online events for artists like Niall Horan, Nick Cave, Kylie Minogue, Laura Marling and Biffy Clyro, promoted and produced the event, which was directed by Giorgio Testi of Pulse Films. Franco Dragone, best known for his work with Cirque Du Soleil, designed the visuals.
