PINGING: ASHNIKKO, AJR and JAMES ARTHUR

In the latest edition of PINGING, we shine a light on tracks from Ashnikko, AJR and James Arthur, which are buzzing in all the right places. But don't take our word for it—check out the numbers:

Ashnikko, "Daisy" (Warner)

The U.S. expat who broke out last year with the viral hit "Stupid" has followed up with another TikTok heater; "Daisy" has reached new heights on Spotify's U.S. chart nearly every day in October and is currently at #42. It's the 6th-most-popular sound on TikTok this month, with over 800m views and 1b+ plays. "Daisy" was added to Today's Top Hits two weeks ago and is also getting adds at Alternative radio.

AJR, "Bang!" (AJR Prod/S-Curve)

The alt-pop brothers of AJR are climbing DSPs with their latest single, "Bang!" The cinematic song is gaining traction from TikTok of late (172k videos), triggering a boost in streams. It reached multiple peaks this week and is currently at #115 at Spotify U.S. "Bang!" is already a proven hit at radio, ascending to the Top 10 at Hot AC and approaching the Top 15 at Pop. The cut has also been locked inside the Top 10 at iTunes this month.

James Arthur, "Train Wreck" (Columbia)

X-Factor champ James Arthur has aspiring singers on TikTok testing their chops to his track "Train Wreck," from the 2016 album Back From the Edge. Though the recording's audio isn't being used by performers on TikTok, #trainwreck is trending, with over 70m videos. It blew up at DSPs over the weekend, rising to #70 at Apple Music and #65 at Spotify U.S.
