Adele will make her first performance in years on this week's SNL, but not as musical guest—she will host the show for the first time. RCA's H.E.R. is booked as the musical guest.

Could this be the beginning of the campaign for her highly anticipated fourth studio album? Fans and the biz have spent 2019 and much of 2020 speculating about when the record-breaking sales champion will return. 11/20 will mark the five-year anniversary of 25 (Columbia). 

In a post announcing the hosting gig, Adele noted that she is "terrified" and that it's been 12 years since she last appeared on SNL.
