Halsey is expected to make her major acting debut in The Player’s Table, a TV series based on Jessica Goodman’s young adult novel They Wish They Were Us. Halsey also will serve as a producer.
Sydney Sweeny’s Fifty-Fifty Films, Jean-Marc Vallée and Nathan Ross’ Crazyrose and Endeavor Content are developing the series, according to a report in Deadline. Annabelle Attanasio (Mickey and the Bear) is the writer and director.
Sweeney invited Halsey to join the project. The two had met while working on the Capitol recording artist’s video for “Graveyard.”
The book is about a group of friends attempting the reveal the truth about a murder at a Long island prep school. Halsey and Sweeny’s characters attempt to unearth facts about the case to exonerate young man charged with murder.
