BEAR WITNESS, TAKE ACTION

YouTube has announced Bear Witness, Take Action, a global conversation on racial justice and the first project from the newly announced multi-year $100m fund dedicated to amplifying black voices. Set for 6/13, the 90-minute fundraising event kicks off at 6pm ET/3pm PT and is hosted by Common and Keke Palmer.

Organized with discussions and panels, as well as musical tributes from performers like Brittany Howard, John Legend and Trey Songz, a range of educators, leaders and activists like Jemele Hill, Roland S. Martin, Soledad OBrien, Ambers Closet, Kimberlé Crenshaw, and special guests like Carmelo Anthony, Sterling K. Brown, Hakeem Butler, Skai Jackson, among others, are set to join the livestream to create change, heighten awareness and raise funding for racial justice.

Additionally, YouTube’s Spotlight channel will highlight racial justice issues during the month of June. “At YouTube, we believe Black lives matter and we all need to do more to dismantle systemic racism,” said YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki. “We’re committed to doing better as a platform to center and amplify Black voices and perspectives.”
