BILLIE TALKS NEW MUSIC, 'DAD RADIO' SHOW AT APPLE

Darkroom/Interscope's Billie Eilish chatted with Zane Lowe ahead of her new Apple Music show "me & dad radio." The first episode of the new show, featuring music and conversations with her dad, Patrick O'Connell, will air Friday 5/8 on Apple Music at 12pm PT. Listen to it here.

In Thursday's edition of At Home, Eilish talked to Lowe about writing new music with FINNEAS during quarantine, canceling her blockbuster arena tour and sharing music with her father over the years.

On recording new music: "We've been in the stu, which just means Finneas' basement basically. We wrote a whole song in its entirety, an entire song, which is kind of rare for us to just write a whole song in one. It usually - Yeah, and I really love it. It was exactly what I needed to say when we wrote it. It was like I don't know. I can't tell time anymore. Yeah. But we've been, we've been doing a lot of stuff. We're trying to finish this one that I'm not going to say. Yeah, we got some stuff coming."

On the new radio show with her father: "There's going to be six episodes and my plan is, obviously it's me & dad's show, but then we're going to have one episode that has mom come and give us some songs and then I want to have another one where Finneas comes and give us some songs. So it's not like I replaced Finneas with my dad. I mean, it is like that, but it's not."

Billie: I’ve just talked so much about my dad's influence on me with music and the music that he played us growing up and not just that, but then when I got older, my dad and I have had this relationship over the years of music sharing with each other. So it's kind of like a thing everybody knows, like my dad and I share music together, and my dad has shown me some of my favorite songs in the world, and I've shown him songs that he loves and adores and also-
Patrick: She’s written a bunch I love too.
Billie: I’ve talked about it a lot, and everybody kind of knows, my dad, we're twins, basically. I am my father's daughter for sure. We're a little bit one and the same, which can be a little much for my mom.
Patrick: Well, what I do is I find music in various ways, and I shoot the ones I think Billie would be interested to her on text. Just kind of stuff that I would probably not have found on my own. So now that I am kind of re-turned onto music and listened to a lot of new stuff, she finds new stuff all the time, and then I sent her this new stuff that I think is interesting.
