June, as you know, is Black Music Month. Since there was a thing called popular music, black creators have been at the center of it, from Duke Ellington to John Coltrane to Chuck Berry to Howlin' Wolf to Aretha to Hendrix to Prince to Beyoncé and beyond. The constant innovation of these brilliant artists created indelible works and moved the music forward.
Now black music is fully driving the marketplace as well, as even a scan of the streaming and other charts will confirm.
Stay tuned.
