CADY GROVES,
1989-2020

Singer/songwriter Cady Groves, who transitioned from pop to country during her decade-plus career, has passed away in her Tennessee home at just 30 years of age.

Her death appears to be from natural causes, pending a final coroner’s report. Foul play and self-harm have both been ruled out by the coroner.

Groves, born in Emporia, Kans., had spent the last year working on material with the team from Shane McAnally’s SMACKSongs and had recently signed with Thirty Tigers. An EP been slated for release this summer.

After making her recording debut in 2009 with the EP A Month of Sundays, Groves released three more EPs: 2010’s The Life of a Pirate, 2012’s This Little Girl and 2015’s Dreams. Her singles included “This Little Girl, “We’re the Shit” and “Love Actually.”

She was part of the Bamboozle Roadshow and toured with Boys Like Girls, LMFAO, Good Charlotte and Third Eye Blind before her move into country.

Her studio collaborators included the late producer/writer busbee, Jim Lauderdale, Savan Kotecha, Kristian Lundin and Carl Falk, while she recorded with The Ready Set and Plug in Stereo.

Cady’s family requests fans refrain from speculation and requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Music Health Alliance or MusiCares.
