As concerts around the globe have come to a halt, the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) has formed to fight for the survival of independent venues, their employees, artists, fans and their communities.
Consisting of more than 800 venues, including L.A.’s Troubadour, Philadelphia’s World Cafe Live and N.Y.’s Hammerstein Ballroom, NIVA, which recently penned a letter to Congress asking for further aid during the pandemic, has joined forces with Music Biz and Live Nation’s Crew Nation to host a Zoom webinar discussing efforts to protect independent entertainment hubs and the state of the live-music market.
As a part of a new weekly Music Biz LIVE interview series, Music Biz President Portia Sabin will interview Nurit Smith of the Crew Nation initiative, along with Marauder’s Rev. Moose and First Avenue’s Dayna Frank, representing NIVA, today (4/27) at 1pm PT here.
