SONY SEWS UP BEATLES MERCH

Can The Beatles be any bigger? Sony Music’s merch company is betting on it, signing a deal to develop new merchandise, licensing, retail and ecommerce opportunities for the Fab Four in North America.

Sony’s Thread Shop will work closely with Apple Corps to create unique apparel and products and will also operate The Beatles North America direct-to-consumer commerce site.

The Thread Shop will open a holiday pop-up store in New York on 12/11 that will stay open through 12/22. The pop-up will showcase new apparel designs as well an assortment of licensed Beatles clothing, toys, and other branded products including turntables and a pinball machine.

Joe Marziotto has joined the Thread Shop Team as Vice President, Licensing & Marketing to work on Beatles projects.

“Their revolutionary achievements continue to inspire artists and thinkers across borders, cultures, and generations,” Sony Music Commercial Music Group President Richard Story said. “We are tremendously honored that they have entrusted The Thread Shop with their iconic brand, and we look forward to sharing their extraordinary vision with fans.”
