AMAS GET LOUD WITH TAYLOR, BILLIE, CAMILA, AGBW/XTINA

The 2019 American Music Awards aired on ABC 11/24, live from the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

The show featured live performances from Selena Gomez, host Ciara, Lizzo, Thomas Rhett, Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello, Kesha, Toni Braxton, Billie Eilish, Halsey, Green Day who brought the rock and the pyro, Cabello again solo, Jonas Brothers via satellite from Boston, Post Malone, Travis Scott, Ozzy Osbourne & Watt, Dua Lipa and Shania Twain.

Winners included Eilish, Halsey, Carrie Underwood, Mendes & Cabello, Post Malone, Lil Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus, BTS, Dan + Shay, Khalid, Kane Brown, Cardi B, Bruno Mars, Beyonce, J Balvin, Lauren Daigle, Marshmello and Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

Christina Aguilera and A Great Big World reunited to perform their new song "Fall On Me," a heartfelt ballad which was #18 at iTunes before the show, and is now #1. The performance—which you can watch here— has already earned multiple laurels via online reviews, and the song is now the most-Shazamed performance of the night.

Taylor Swift was presented the Artist of the Decade award by Carole King, and performed a medley of past and present hits. Her medley included such oldies as "Love Story," "Trouble," "Blank Space," and "Shake It Off" (with Cabello and Halsey). Swift also won big, taking home Artist of the Year and Favorite Pop/Rock Album honors, making her the most-awarded artist in AMA history. Despite the high-profile band-and-forth between Tay and her former label, there was little controversy in the appearance. Swift gave a big shout-out to UMG boss Sir Lucian Grainge and Republic chief Monte Lipman.

In a related story, Mark Shimmel is still doing the "Shake It Off" choreography in the parking garage.
