More than 500 industry peeps turned out for HITCO’s 2020 Vision showcase at Hollywood's Live House on 11/20. The event, presented and hosted by label head L.A. Reid, featured performances by HITCO artists Dinah Jane, Delacey, Asher Angel (who's managed by Johnny Wright and is also an actor in the film Shazam!), Rubi Rose and Yella Beezy. Warner Records artist NLE Choppa joined Rose to perform her song “Hit Yo Dance,” on which he and Beezy collaborate.
Also the subjects of presentations were SAINt JHN, Heavysteppers (the label's latest signing from Chicago, currently buzzing on TikTok), The Bonfyre and HappyBirthdayCalvin. LiveXLive handled the livestream.
HITCO execs in attendance included Co-Chairman and founder Charles Goldstuck, President Joel Klaiman, EVP/GM Kirdis Postelle, SVP/Head of A&R Jaha Johnson and VP/Marketing Lynn Scott.
Other biz folk spotted in the house: Empire's Ghazi Shami, Amazon's Steve Boom and Ryan Reddington, Spotify's Chaka Zulu, Apple's Nathalie Besharat, iHeart's Doc Wynter & DJ Ayo, Power 106's Eman, Beats' Rodney King, Pandora's Nicole Johnson, Hitmaka, Flight House's Jacob Pace, Create Music Group's Jonathan Strauss, LiveXLive's Rob Ellin, Delacey's attorney Steve Sessa, industry chess master Steve Moir and senior execs from Warner Records, among others.
DJ/influencer Chantel Jeffries got things started by warming up the capacity crowd. Reid then praised the label's commitment to authentic artist development and introduced each performer. Behind the building was an elite wristband-only back patio featuring the In-N-Out truck and a bevy of assorted photogenic hipsters.
We're not sure how we got into the VIP burger zone, or onto the list for this shindig in the first place, but it was clear that HITCO's vision for 2020 is a strong one.
