PITTMAN, FRESTON REMEMBER WHEN MTV PLAYED VIDEOS

Two old cronies from MTV’s salad days, Bob Pittman and Tom Freston talk TV, business and nurturing talent on the latest edition of the iHeart chief’s podcast Math & Magic.

Freston notes that at MTV and parent Viacom, "A lot of focus was on creating a culture that would attract creative people; they would want to come and live there. I mean, we'd have, at one point, Judd Apatow, or Ben Stiller, or Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Adam Sandler would be sleeping in the offices sometimes; it was a hot-house atmosphere."

We have a hot house atmosphere here at HITS, too, but we’re lucky if we can even get a ripe tomato.
