As of the afternoon of 8/23, it looks nearly certain that Shawn Mendes will have both the #1 and #2 slots on Monday's Top 40 radio chart with the Camila Cabello duet "Senorita" and his "If I Can't Have You" (both on Darcus Beese's Island), a feat not achieved by a single promotion department since early 2004, when Arista landed OutKast's "Hey Ya!" and "The Way You Move" in the top two spots. Big ups to two promo ninjas, Republic's Gary Spangler and Island's Ayelet Schiffman, both of whom are, in Shawn's honor, feeling proudly Canadian right now.
