Word has it that Capitol will soon be working a new version of Daddy Yankee’s “Con Calma” featuring Snow, with English verses sung by Katy Perry. This is the latest dramatic development in the saga of the smash; Republic was readying to cross the track as recently as 4/11, but it appears Team Barnett made an offer too good for Team Yankee to refuse.
"Con Calma" is one of the biggest records in the world, and currently Top 5 on Spotify’s Global chart (trailing one Billie Eilish song and two versions of Lil Nas X’s uncanny giant). The Spanish-language jam, which interpolates Snow’s 1992 smash “Informer,” came out on Puerto Rican star Daddy Yankee’s El Cartel label.
Stay tuned for further details on this developing story.
