WELCOME BACK, JON PLATT (UPDATE)

Jon Platt has taken the reins at Sony/ATV, as his mentor Marty Bandier concludes his illustrious tenure. Platt, fresh off a powerhouse run at Warner/Chappell, has been building his team. What new directions will we see at SATV? Stand by. In the meantime, you can peruse JP's introductory letter to the pubco's songwriters below.

As I start today as Chairman and CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, the first thing I want to do is reach out to you.

With 25 years in music publishing, including 17 years at EMI, I’m excited to be reunited with the songwriters and colleagues I've worked with for years, and I’m really looking forward to meeting those of you I haven’t had the chance to work with yet.

Anyone who has worked with me throughout my career knows that I’ve always put songwriters first in every decision that I make. That philosophy has guided me well, and I will continue to do that. What’s important to me is that you, the songwriters, are treated fairly, with respect and get the compensation you deserve.

Like many of you, I started in music as a teenager. Music is my life, and songwriters are my inspiration. I look forward to working directly with you, and for you. Just know that my way is to always be available to you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you need anything from me or our team.

I’m looking forward to the great things we’re going to do together. I am thankful for your commitment to Sony/ATV.

All the best,

-Jon
