Def Jam's Logic, aka Bobby Hall, just dropped a soundtrack to accompany his new book, Supermarket. It's currently #1 at iTunes.
The music—melodic, breezy and, in many instances, guitar-driven—serves as a refreshing departure for the rapper, who utilized a live band and teamed up with Mac Demarco for several tracks. “I wanted to use my novel as an opportunity to challenge myself musically diving into a completely new genre," the artist shared. And according to best-selling author Ernest Cline (Ready Player One), “Bobby Hall has crafted a mind-bending first novel, with prose that is just as fierce and moving as his lyrics. Supermarket is like Naked Lunch meets One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest—if they met at Fight Club."
