SONY HOOKS UP WITH A VISIONARY

Sony Music and manager Chris Zarou are in business together, forming a talent-development partnership under the imprint Visionary Records. Zarou, who handles the careers of Logic, Jon Bellion and others, will serve as CEO of the New York-based label.

Sony Music chieftain Rob Stringer expressed his delight about the prospect of working with Zarou, whom he described as “a highly driven and futuristic young career builder.”

For his part, Zarou is “so grateful for the opportunity that Rob Stringer has given me,” adding that “Artist development will continue to be at the core of our business at Visionary Records, and we are thrilled to partner with artists who will push boundaries and shape the landscape of music for years to come.”

The entrepreneurial Zarou is the CEO of management company Visionary Music Group, which he founded in 2010 in recognition of the importance of bona fide artist development, while understanding the key role that strategic Internet marketing plays in cultivating fan bases and translating fan engagement into commercial, touring, merchandise and branding success.
