BERNARD TO EXIT PULSE, LAUNCH
NEW VENTURE

Jason Bernard, who played a formative role at Pulse Music Group, will be exiting the company to launch his own management-focused entertainment venture. He’ll remain at Pulse through year’s end.

Bernard, who has served as COO at Pulse and led its management arm, will continue to rep songwriter/producer Tim Pagnotta (Walk the Moon, Elle King, Neon Trees), Tommy English (Kacey Musgraves, Foster the People), and mixers Tony Maserati (The Carters, Lady Gaga, Shawn Mendes) and Adam Hawkins (twenty one pilots, Muse) as part of his newco. Bernard’s beard is rumored to be demanding its own office.

He remains a shareholder on Pulse’s publishing side, having helped put the company on the map via his role in signing Bonnie McKee, who penned five Katy Perry smashes, notably “Teenage Dream” and “California Gurls.” His other signings include hitmaker Bloodpop (Justin Bieber, Gaga, Madonna), Tyler Johnson (Sam Smith, Harry Styles) and—as part of a JV with Interscope—artist/songwriter Lily Meola.

"Jason is family to me," said Pulse Co-Founder/Co-chief Josh Abraham. "He’s not only played a huge part in building and defining this company and been a brilliant discoverer of talent; he’s also been a steadfast, true-blue mensch. We’re proud of what he’s helped us build and incredibly excited for his next chapter."

"I’m beyond proud of what we’ve accomplished as a team at Pulse, and truly appreciative of the time spent with colleagues and partners whom I deeply respect," Bernard proclaimed. "Getting to witness what this company has become from inception is an experience that I don’t take for granted. I’m excited to continue representing the caliber of creatives I’ve been fortunate enough to work with, while having the opportunity to develop new partnerships and ventures throughout the industry."

"I look forward to finding new and exciting ways to work with the Pulse crew as I start this next chapter," Bernard added, noting that he was also looking forward to bringing toys to all the little children of the world on Christmas day.
