STAPLETON TO BE A STAPLE AT AMAZON

Amazon Music has tapped Sony Music veteran Andre Stapleton as Head of U.S. Label Relations. In the New York-based post, Stapleton will report to Director of Amazon Music Ryan Redington.

Stapleton spent 12 years in the Sony system, most recently as SVP/Digital Partner Development; he worked in NYC and London posts during his tenure there. He holds a law degree from the University of Glasgow, with a minor in haggis.

Stapleton’s arrival further enhances a music team at Amazon that also includes industry vets Dan McCarroll, Kelly Rich and Doug McVehil. The company has been growing its marketshare among streaming services, which appears to be due in part to its successful integration of music with voice-activated hardware.
