Cannabis company MedMen, which runs the "Apple Store of weed dispensaries," has added RocNation co-founder and CEO Jay Brown to its Board of Directors.
“For more than two decades, Jay Brown has had his finger on the pulse of pop culture,” said MedMen Co-founder and CEO Adam Bierman.
“We are honored to have him on our Board and look forward to working with him as MedMen continues on its mission to mainstream marijuana.”
Brown compared the passion of people involved with music with the folks stoking the world of pot. “I see that same intensity in today’s emerging cannabis industry and MedMen is definitely at the head of the pack,” Brown said. “I believe in their mission and I believe in their ability to execute.”
MedMen operates 19 licensed facilities in California, Nevada and New York, where they opened on 4/20, including cultivation, manufacturing and retail. The punny name of the company has resulted in disappointed patrons wandering in looking for knock-offs of Miles van der Rohe furniture and a stiff glass of Scotch at 11 in the morning.
