AWAL GETTING IN2UNE

Kobalt’s label AWAL has acquired the radio promotion and music marketing firm in2une Music.

The acquisition provides an upgrade to AWAL’s global marketing and promotion capabilities. In addition, in2une Music will maintain its autonomy to serve existing and prospective clients regardless of whether they use AWAL’s other services. It will continue to operate independently and provide services to AWAL along with its existing client base.

Around for 10 years, in2une Music has landed more than 400 songs on charts including Major Lazer's "Lean On," and tracks from Chance the Rapper, Diplo, Capital Cities and others.

“AWAL is committed to providing the best services for our artists and this was a natural next step to bolster AWAL’s global marketing and promotion capabilities,” said Kobalt Founder and CEO Willard Ahdritz (pictured at left). “In2une was the perfect addition.”

AWAL will provide resources to in2une Music to build a more robust worldwide team to support global curation, social/digital strategy and campus/lifestyle marketing.

“Investing in services for independent-minded artists, managers and labels has been the #1 focus for us,” said AWAL CEO Lonny Olinick. “We took an important step forward in cementing AWAL as a comprehensive alternative to the label system.”

in2une CEO, Dale Connone (seen at right) called the move “a natural evolution” after working with AWAL for four years. “We share the same vision for independent artists and the services business along with integrity and transparency.”
