The Top 5 Highest-Grossing Films in America Over the Weekend

Marvel/Disney's blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War absolutely dominated in theaters, breaking the domestic opening weekend box office record and worldwide opening record with $250m and $630m, respectively. Prior to Infinity War, 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens held the U.S. record with approximately $247.9m.

It's worth noting that Black Panther—also part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe—returned to the Top 5 this weekend. The film, already beyond acclaimed, bowed with north of $202m in February.
