STARRAH ASCENDANT

Starrah has been named ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the Year, sharing the honor with UMPG's Steve Mac, Sony/ATV writer Drew Taggart and Kobalt's inimitable Max Martin.

The Pulse songwriter, who's managed by Maverick's Nick Jarjour, counts such hits as Camila Cabello's "Havana" f/Young Thug, Drake's "Fake Love," Maroon 5's "What Lovers Do" f/SZA and Halsey's "Now or Never" among her compositions.

You may recall a photo from last year in which the gifted but notoriously camera-shy tunesmith was barely glimpsed hiding behind an enormous plaque marking 10m singles sold; she's also lent her pen to monsters from Katy Perry, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Travis Scott and G-Eazy, to name a few.
