J. Cole's KOD has broken the Spotify record for first-day U.S. album streams with 36.6m+ and the Apple Music record with 64.5m. Both figures were touted in tweets from the services themselves.
With 4.2m first-day streams, meanwhile, the set's title track recently broke the U.S. first-day record for a single cut previously held by Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do." Tracks from the hip-hop luminary's Dreamville/Roc Nation/Interscope collection also currently occupy nine of the Top 10 spots at Apple Music; KOD is the top album at iTunes.
