COUNTRY SONGS STORM iTUNES TOP 20 (UPDATE)

The ACM Awards have truly moved the needle at iTunes. Seven of the Top 10 and 12 of the Top 20 songs feature Nashville artists.

Capitol Nashville’s Carrie Underwood leads the way at #1; Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line’s “Meant to Be” (Warner Bros.) follows; Kane Brown is in there twice; and, for an extra punch, there’s a shot of “Tequila.”

You'll find a 4-5-6 of Jason Aldean's "You Make It Easy" (BBR), Luke Bryan's "Most People Are Good" (Capitol Nashville) and Kenny Chesney's "Get Along" (Blue Chair/Warner Nashville).

Other performances from the show that have led to iTunes spikes into the Top 10 include Blake Shelton’s “I Lived It” at #8; Kane Brown's duet with Lauren Alaina, “What Ifs” (RCA Nashville), is #11; and Dan + Shay’s “Tequila” is #10. Thomas Rhett’s “Marry Me,” Dierks Bentley’s “Woman, Amen” and Lady Antebellum’s “Heart Break” also shot up the chart.

On the album side, Little Big Town’s performance of Elton John and Bernie Taupin’s “Rocket Man” has bolstered the all-country Elton & Bernie tribute disc, Restoration (UMG Nashville), and New Vocal Duo/Group of the Year Midland’s performance pushed their On the Rocks (BMLG) to #13 (now #21) from outside the Top 100.

Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year winner Chris Stapleton (whose "Broken Halos" is #14) has seen his Mercury Nashville catalog take an impressive leap: Album of the Year From A Room Vol. 1 is #10, Traveller is #16 and From a Room: Vol. 2 is #19.
