On the heels of her vertical video for "Delicate," Taylor Swift has created more Spotify-exclusive content: two Spotify Singles, recorded in Nashville. One is an acoustic rendition of "Delicate;" the other is her re-imainging of the Earth Wind & Fire smash "September." The latter sounds surprisingly stately and wistful with the addition of banjo. You can check them out below.
Clearly Tay is, like many of her peers, exploring new configurations and strategies for delivering material in the streaming age; what's noteworthy in her recent excursions, of course, is her closer relationship with the Spot, which follows a series of conversations with streamery chief Daniel Ek. Clearly there was a meeting of the minds (just before Spotify stock went kaboom on the NYSE, which is probably just a big coincidence) and Taylor, who had previously pulled her content from Spotify and kept her new work behind Apple's paywall, is now feeling the Swedish love in a big way. How "Delicate" is the truce? We shall see.
