MUSIC BIZ TO SALUTE ED SHEERAN
Ed Sheeran will receive the Music Business Association’s Artist of the Year Award at the Music Biz 2018 conference on 5/17 in Nashville.
“Ed Sheeran has had a remarkable year that few artists will ever achieve, helping to push streaming even further into the mainstream with the record-breaking success of ÷,” said James Donio, President of Music Biz. “While he has been a strong presence in the industry for several years, 2017 proved to be extraordinary.”
Sheeran said he would accept the award after Music Biz agreed to his rider request of a good steak-and-kidney pie.
Music Biz will be held at the Omni Hotel 5/13-17. The awards ceremony will also honor Cary Sherman, Scooter Braun, Hilary Rosen, Nile Rodgers and Julia Michaels. Details are here.
