The Shazam USA 100 reveals that new singles from Charlie Puth and Cardi B are attracting thumbs as are a hit from the ‘80s and a collection of haroset-eating harmonizers.
One of the first tracks from Puth’s upcoming Artist Partner Group release Voicenotes, “Done for Me” f/Kehlani, is up 184 slots to #17. Cardi B’s “Be Careful” (Atlantic) is the second highest among the greatest gainers, rising 152 slots to #49.
The trailer for the Stephen Spielberg film Ready Player One is taking people back to 1985 courtesy of a-Ha’s “Take on Me” (Rhino), which is up 148 to #53.
And with Passover comes The Macabeats and their self-released 3-year-old a cappella track, “Dayenu.” It’s now #54 in the U.S. and #33 in the U.K. where it is the week’s greatest gainer just ahead of Daryl Hall & Johhn Oates and The Velvet Underground.
Class Actress’ 2010 release “Journal of Ardency” (Terrible) rises 125 slots to #76 after a synch in the premier episode of HBO’s new series Barry.
