The iHeartRadio Music Awards set it off at the Forum in Inglewood Sunday night. The show, hosted by DJ Khaled and Hailey Baldwin, was packed with performances.
Broadcast live on TBS, TNT, and truTV, the show opened with a rousing set from Bronx badass (and award winner for Best New Artist) Cardi B, who torched through all her current hits like "Motorsport," "Bartier Cardi" and "No Limit," on which G-Eazy joined her, plus that fun verse on "Finesse" from Bruno Mars.
Camila Cabello channelled Material Girl-era Madonna for her saucy performance of "Havana," complete with the iconic pink dress and gloves, while Eminem set the tone for his live debut of the single "Nowhere Fast" with Kehlani by being introduced by a survivor of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting in Parkland, Fla.— who then encouraged his attending peers in the audience to join him at 3/24's March for Our Lives.
Ed Sheeran accepted his wins for Male Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for "Shape of You" live from Melbourne, Australia, by sneaking in a sweet acoustic ballad for his fans, while N.E.R.D closed out the awards with an energetic performance of "Lemon," making up for the absence of Rihanna with a mesmerizing crew of dancers.
Other notable winners included Taylor Swift for Female Artist of the Year, Thomas Rhett for Country Artist of the Year, Kendrick Lamar for Hip-Hop Artist, Bruno Mars for R&B Artist, Luis Fonsi for Latin Artist and Metallica for Rock Artist.
