SWEETS FOR
THE SAWEETIE

Cali rapper Saweetie has inked with Warner Bros. in a partnership deal that brings her Icy imprint, via Artistry Records, to the Bunny. Saweetie's "ICY GRL" can be enjoyed via all DSPs now. Her EP is due 3/16.

"You know you have something special when an artist immediately connects in the way Saweetie has,” said WBR COO/Co-Chairman Tom Corson, who acknowledged partner Max Gousse and Warner A&R player Eesean Bolden for bringing the artist in.

With plaudits from Pigeons & Planes (Best New Artist of the Month: January) and Tidal (Rising Artist of the Week), a Fenty Beauty boost from Rihanna (the ad ran during the Super Bowl, but hey, no big whoop) and other bona fides already under her belt, Saweetie is on track to make noise in 2018.

Whether there will be a tie-in with fellow Warner stalwart Tweetie Pie remains to be determined.
