FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

Kendrick Lamar’s collection of songs inspired by the latest Marvel film, Black Panther The Album (TDE/Aftermath/Interscope) grabs the top slot at iTunes and #2 at Apple Music on this flipover Friday. Another film has the #2 slot at iTunes.

Republic’s soundtrack to Fifty Shades Freed, featuring Bishop Briggs’ cover of INXS’ “Never Tear Us Apart,” two Julia Michaels tracks and the Liam Payne/Rita Ora duet “For You,” slides in at #2. Solid Ground, the 11th album from Wade Bowen, is #3.

The third solo album from Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon, Sleepwalkers (Island), drives in at #6 followed by the first studio album in more than eight years from Dashboard Confessional Crooked Shadows (Fueled By Ramen), at #7.

Elevation Collective, a new project that unites the Elevation Worship choir with several CCM stars, opens at #8 with Evidence (Elevation Worship).

The 10th album from Sister Hazel, Water (Croakin’ Poet), wades in at #9 and Toto, whose “Africa” has caught on with millennials, finds Greatest Hits: 40 Trips Around the Sun (Sony Legacy) closing out the Top 10.

New albums from MGMT, The Oh Hellos, The Wombats, Franz Ferdinand, Social Cub Misfits and 2 Chainz are knocking on the Top 10’s door.

At singles, country singer Jon Langston’s self-released “When It Comes to Loving You” is the highest debut at #12.
