ABC's Nightline recently profiled breakout Def Jam star Alessia Cara, with a focus on the singer's outlier approach to personal style (in contrast with her glammed-up Pop contemporaries) and how it's an authentic reflection of her true self, a spirit that also shines brightly through her music.
“It really is just me trying to be myself in a world of people who feel they can’t be themselves,” explained Cara, who's widely believed to be a contender for a Best New Artist Grammy nom and who has emerged as a body-positive champion after the platinum success of "Scars To Your Beautiful."
