FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

Yes, albums by artists other than Taylor Swift were released today and four of them have spots in the iTunes Top 10 this flipover Friday.

The return of Evanescence after a six-year hiatus lands in second place behind Swift’s reputation (Big Machine). Synthesis, released by BMG, is the fourth album from the Amy Lee-led ensemble.

RCA’s Walk On the Moon sees its What If Nothing take fourth place followed by the fifth album from Upchurch, King of Dixie (Redneck Nation), one slot lower. Another country album, Tracy Lawrence’s collection of duets, Good Ole Days (Lawrence Music), is #7.

The holdovers—or are they hangovers?—enjoying boosts from the CMA Awards will likely fade over the weekend, making room for new titles from Greta Van Fleet, Wiz Khalifa, the Justice League soundtrack and the Elton John hits collection Diamonds.

The new track Keith Urban released on Wednesday and performed on the CMAs, “Female” (Hit Red/Capitol Nashville), continues to hold onto #1 on the singles chart.

While no new music has made its way up Apple Music’s charts, several country albums are sliding in among the rhythm, hip-hop and pop titles in the Top 100. Kelsea Ballerini’s Unapologetically (Black River) is #40; Thomas Rhett’s Life Changes (BMLG) is #68 and Chris Stapleton’s From a Room Vol. 1 (Mercury Nashville) is #84.
