CONSUMERS SWEET ON N.E.R.D.'S "LEMON" (UPDATE)

N.E.R.D.'s latest single, “Lemon” f/Rihanna, premiered on Apple Music's Beats 1 as Zane Lowe's "World Record" yesterday. Since then, it's taken off at DSPs and tastemaker spots across the web. The Columbia trio, headed by Pharrell, have also released a video for the song, which is now Top 10 at iTunes. It's also Top 10 in more than 15 markets worldwide. The video, meanwhile, was trending at #1 on YouTube and already has 2m+ views.

“Lemon” is the first new material from the Ron Laffitte and Caron Veazey-managed trio since their recorded songs for the film SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water three years ago. The last album from Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shay Haley came out in 2010.

This new track's got approximately 27m in playlist reach on Spotify with RapCaviar, Get Turnt, Hot Rhythmic and more. As for Apple Music, The A List Hip Hop (#6), Breaking Hip Hop (#1), New Fire (#1), Best of the Week (#1), Today’s Hits (#10) and Future Hits (#1) are on board.

On the social side, #Lemon immediately began trending worldwide on Twitter. And Rihanna’s Instagram post has earned 3m+ views. Additional posts have appeared via Tyler, The Creator, Missy Elliott, Calvin Harris, Charlie Puth, Questlove and more.

Early radio pick-up at formats Rhythm, Urban and Pop includes Power 106, Hot 97, REALFM L.A., WGCI, KKDA, USL Philadelphia and WKRL.
