Friday saw the release of the first track from the next Migos album and season two of Netflix’s Stranger Things, both of which land songs among the greatest gainers on the Shazam USA Top 100.
The first track from Culture II (QC/Motown/Capitol), “Motor Sport,” finds Migos partnering with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. The track rose 189 slots to #12 to become this week’s greatest gainer. Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein’s title tune “Stranger Things” (Lakeshore) rose 148 spaces to #53.
Between those two—and sitting atop the list of the greatest gainers in the U.K.—is a mystery: Keray’s “Douairiere.” We’re not sure in what language you’d find the word “douairiere” nor which country you’d find the single-named Keray, who has self-released three albums this year. It’s caught the attention of ears and thumbs, though.
The new single from Selena Gomez & Marshmello “Wolves” (Interscope) pops onto the gainers list days after its release along with the Ed Sheeran album track “Supermarket Flowers” (Atlantic), which was used in a recent Dancing With the Stars performance.
