ASCAP TOASTS DUA LIPA

Warner Bros. star Dua Lipa accepted the coveted ASCAP Vanguard Award for her outstanding contribution to pop during a ceremony in London Monday night where Fiction band The Amazons were also recognised.

The awards celebrated some of the most successful songwriters, composers and performers in British music, one of which was songwriter and producer Steve Mac in recognition of his global success and 27-year body of work.

Other honourees on the night were Jamaican singer Richie Stephens, who won Song of the Year and Top Digital Song after his “Sail Away (Riddim)” was sampled by Rihanna on “Work” f/Drake. British artist MNEK, meanwhile, accepted an award for Top EDM Song for “Never Forget You” featuring Zara Larsson.
