U.K. MIDWEEKS: WILL THE WOLF SURVIVE?

Wolf Alice and Shania Twain are duking it out for #1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart while Camila Cabello is putting up a challenge to Sam Smith on the singles side.

Visions Of A Life, the second album from Wolf Alice, the North London rock band on Dirty Hit, is 1,000 combined sales ahead of Shania's comeback album Now (EMI), her first in 15 years.

Those two are just the start of a chart shake-up: Friday’s entire Top 5 could be all new releases. David Gilmour’s Live At Pompeii (Columbia) is comfortably numb at #3; Sony Music CG’s Michael Jackson compilation Scream is starting something at #4; and Demi Lovato's Tell Me You Love Me (Hollywood) sits at #5 which, if it holds, would be a personal best for her.

Also on course for Top 10 debuts are Miley Cyrus's sixth album Younger Now (RCA) at #8, Feeder's The Best Of (BMG) at #9, and Road Songs For Lovers (BMG) from crossword puzzle clue regular Chris Rea at #10. ABBA legend Benny Andersson’s Piano (Decca Classics) is #11 at the halfway mark.

On singles, Cabello’s Havana” (Epic/SYCO) is up to #2—it finished last week at #4—and is 1,500 combined sales behind Smith's “Too Good at Goodbyes” (Capitol). Post Malone f/ 21 Savage's “Rockstar” (Republic) is #3—and a contender for the top slot—with P!nk's “What About Us” (RCA) up two slots to #4, and CNCO & Little Mix holding onto #5 with “Reggaeton Lento” (SYCO).

Three other songs are expected to debut in the Top 10 on Friday: Avicii and Rita Ora's “Lonely Together” (Universal); J Balvin and Willy William f/Beyonce's “Mi Gente” (UML); and Stefflon Don f/French Montana’s “Hurtin' Me” (Polydor).
