“I remember the first time I came to Newport,” Clive Davis told the audience gathered at newportFILM Outdoors Summer Series to see Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of our Lives. “I was at the folk festival looking for something new and exciting. Then I heard ‘Oh! Susanna’ and said let’s sign this kid Stephen Foster.”

The special screening, presented by newportFILM and Newport Folk, was held as a lead-in event for the Newport Folk Festival that starts its three-day run today. Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of our Lives will be in theaters and on Apple Music this fall.
